Ideas For a New Zealand Itinerary

Visitors often make a mistake while planning their trip to New Zealand that they want to see maximum things during their tour. There are numerous attractions, and you can’t travel lots of distances on a regular basis. For instance, from Rotorua to Taupo, it is only 90 kilometers, but it may take your whole day to travel and stop at Lady Knox Geyser, Mud Pools, Moon Craters, and Huka Falls, before hitting the Lake Taupo. You can’t compare New Zealand to Australia where you can’t see anything even after 500 Kilometers drive. Keep it in mind that travel insurance on line is an integral part of your travel planning.

If you have limited days and not sure what to see and do during your stay, check out this itinerary.

Auckland

For the winterless north, the Kaitaia is a central location, and you can catch tour bus along the 90-mile beach or visit the top North Island known as Cape Regina. Other places to visit are Ahipara Beach, Nocturnal Park, and Regional Museum. You can hire a car, pack your heavy luggage and start your journey down the country.

Auckland Center

You can access it in 30 minutes through a car from Auckland Airport and require one-hour trip by air from Wellington. You can view Hauraki Gulf, volcanic cones, dining, culture, and arts. This location is the heart of Auckland, surrounded by the relaxed coastal living atmosphere by different energy shared by the suburbs of inner-city. You can see the beautiful seaside scenery and discover dining, entertaining and world-class shopping.

Attractive Places to Visit

In central Auckland, you can start with a trip to Sky Towel, the beautiful tallest building located in the Southern Hemisphere. This location will give you a remarkable 360-degrees view of the beautiful city. For extreme sightseeing, you can walk around the outer area of Sky Tower on one high platform.
Mt Eden, the volcanic cone of the city, offers panoramic views from the top. This town is famously known as the “City of Sails” so feel free to visit a dolphin safari, Cup Yacht of America and harbor cruise. Hire a ferry to visit Waiheke Island and enjoy sandy beaches, olive groves, and vineyards.

Auckland to Hobbiton Movie set to tour to Waitomo

The famous attractions of New Zealand can be explored in the North Island (Central), such as Waitomo Caves and Hobbiton Movie Set. You can view both locations in one day during your tour from Auckland. Enjoy the rural scenery of Auckland and move to the magical Middle-earth places, such as the private farm outside the Matamata that has worldwide fame as a Hobbiton filming location. Start your guided tour of “Hobbiton Movie Set” and learn about this excellent film set. You can see Hobbit Holes and the house of Bilbo at the bag end, Party Tree, Green Dragon Inn and learn about the behind-the-scenes secrets.

After this tour, you can have lunch at Green Dragon Inn and enjoy the feast at the birthday party of Bilbo. Cross the landscape to the municipality of Waitomo and move underground into the stalactites world, twinkling lights, and stalagmites in the Gloworm Waitomo Caves.

During your 45-minute tour, you can go through underground tunnels and see the vast caverns constructed with limestone formations. You will learn about this magical cave and experience boat ride through the Glowworm Grotto and glide through the darkness. The glowworms will twinkle overhead during this journey. After this trip, you have to return to Auckland and continue your trip to Rotorua.
