Nestled on the south-western tip of South America, Chile has 4270 kilometers from north to south for you to discover. While most of us don’t have the time to travel that far and long, the capital city of Santiago is where we end up.
Not to worry! Santiago is one of those cities that may have thousands of people passing through, but it is slow-paced and there is much to enjoy without being stressed out. Consider these five ways to rejuvenate in Santiago next time you’re in town:
1. Spend Time Sitting and Observing
The capital of Santiago is the largest city in Chile. Along the streets, architecture, and businesses, you will find many streets that are blocked off from traffic. It is normal to find numerous benches so you can sit and watch. It’s all about relaxing whether if you are people-watching or not. Even on a “busier” street, take a seat or find a place where you can immerse. Photo: Alobos Life.

Santiago is already elevated at 520 meters, so it’s not unusual to find some hills to climb and take a hike. San Cristóbal is the most popular spot to go for a quiet and serene walk with a view of the city from above and a 360-degree perspective. The Immaculate Mary at the top that is a favorite for pictures, so religious or not does not matter. The hill is open to all and you can walk up or take a ride in the cable car if you prefer.
