The Quieter Side of Ibiza

Ibiza doesn’t have to mean all night clubbing and crowded bars. Although the island is relatively small, it has an abundance of tranquil villages, beaches and restaurants. So, to stay far away from the madding crowds on your visit to this magical island, follow Ibiza Summer Villas  guide to the quieter side of Ibiza. Here are some of my top recommendations:

Beaches

S’illot Des Rencli
Head approximately 5km north of the village of San Joan and you will find this idyllic and peaceful cove, S’illot Des Rencli. Although the bay itself is small in size the beach is soft and the waters crystal clear. It is also an ideal place to watch the famous Ibiza sunset away from the crowds of the more well-known sunset spots.

Cala Saladita
Another secret sunset spot, but this time on the opposite side of the island, Cala Saladita is close to the busy resort of San Antonio but feels like a whole world away. The only way to get down to this beautiful bay is by taking a somewhat energetic walk across the rocks from neighbouring beach, Cala Salada. Ideal for those who wish to find a peaceful and secluded place to soak up the Ibiza sunshine, the trek is most certainly worthwhile to achieve the end result!

Restaurants

La Noria – Cala Boix
Tucked away under a wonderful canopy of pine trees, this secluded bar and restaurant is simply divine. La Noria offers stunning views over the bay of Cala Boix in the North and is famous for its excellent seafood. We recommend the Bullit de Peix – a traditional and hearty fish stew with rice and potatoes. Simply delicious.

Sa Capella
You could be forgiven for thinking you are dreaming when you step inside this wonderful restaurant. Set in a carefully restored old chapel, the decor and ambience is stylish, tranquil and elegant. Although the restaurant is situated just a few minutes’ drive from the busy town of San Antonio, it feels like you have stepped back into an Ibiza from long ago. Excellent food, including the finest cuts of meat, and attentive service make this one of my favourite spots on the island.

Explore

Ibiza has an abundance of natural parks, fragrant pine forests and picturesque countryside. Choose a private villa set in the heart of the lush nature and you will be afforded all the peace and privacy you could possibly want. And so, why not hire a car and explore the rugged coastline and hidden trails across the island. There are many companies, such as Walking Ibiza who offer guided walks throughout the year, or simply buy a map and go and explore!
